ali's Corner. [My Nightly Debrief]

We always want the things we feel we've missed out on
the most.

The crippled old man wants to walk.
The orphan wants to meet his mother.

Different holes need to be filled with different things.
But what about when we fill the emptiness in our hearts with the wrong things?

square peg.
round hole.

the square peg fits and it will last for a while.
but there's still so much emptiness around it.

while we walk around all day with our pegs in our pockets,
the square peg's corners push against the edges of the round circle it resides in.
soon the corners will start to crack and wear the edges of our hearts.
breaking apart the nothingness we had in the first place.

then what's left?
square one?

...round one...?

now, searching desperately for a round peg to not only fill that empty space
but also to repair what's been shattered.
