What are you looking for?
Tonight I was standing
in a room.
People were scattered,
in their own worlds
waiting to be prayed over.
I looked up from my
overwhelmed mind
and saw a picture of Jesus.
My heart sighed.
I smiled
and said to myself,
"I know you..."
I heard a quiet voice say,
"I know you, too."
Then I began thinking of
all the people who
don't know Him.
Jesus is a friend who
sticks closer than a brother.
And you can't know Him
just based on things
you've heard or read about Him.
You have to meet Him.
Introduce yourself
to the one who already
knows how many hairs are on your head
and how many bandaids you went through
as a child from falling off your bicycle.
Whatever questions/doubts/grudges
that hold you back
--all have answers.
But once you feel the weight of glory
all your pain will fade to memories.
He's always waiting
at the door with a handle
only on your side.
He's never forcing.
He opposes the proud.
and gives grace to the humble. [James 4:6]
He has an individual gift
for you.
It's waiting to be opened.
It's free.
It's bigger and better than anything
you could ever imagine.
There is something more.
He's the answer to whatever
you're looking for.
