when i have kids
i'm going to document
everything.

and not just their
first steps
first words
or
first day of school.

i'm going to get inside of their heads.
get on their level and redefine
the action of "playing" with them.

the imaginations of children
is something taken for granted.

it's something we all once shared,
but as we grew older
it was forgotten.
because of hurtful words.
because of years of being ignored.
because someone said "grow up".

no, my children
will be creative creatures.
their minds will soar the ways they
want them to.

i'll listen to their stories
and indulge in their wonderful
little minds
that think up such
exquisite imagination.
