ali's Corner. [Spoken For.]

"Take this world from me.
I don't need it anymore."

These words from the song
"Spoken For" by Mercyme,
have always stuck with me.

It wasn't until today that I figured out why.

Today I was reading in the book of
Hebrews.
It talks about Noah, Abraham, Abel
and other men who by faith alone
trusted in God.

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
--Hebrews 11:13-16

I realize now, just how much I feel
I don't belong in this world.
Not in a bad way.
I can still relate and connect with people just fine,
because, well...
I am human.
But the holy spirit inside of me,
the one that gives me the gentle nature
that I didn't used to have before,
the one that gives me peace
in times of struggle and chaos,
and the one that tugs on my heart
of be bold in times of opportunity
that gives me the words to say
when I have nothing,
that living spirit inside of me
wants so much more.
It longs for that special place in the sky
we can only dream of.

We can only imagine.

The human brain is incapable of
even beginning to understand
what it could be like.

He is the way, the truth and the life.
How comforting it is to rest on knowing
rather than hoping
where I'm going.

I'm not afraid of dying.
I've always felt that I'm only alive
because my purpose God has willed for me
has not yet been fufilled.
And i'm okay with that.
Because I live each day for Him.
I don't have to be scared.

And I think it's when we realize
just HOW MUCH we really do belong
in heaven, that we're able to
detach ourselves spiritually
from this world.
In the sense of, not being in love
with worldy desires or possessions.
And realize the only thing we really need is God.
And there is nothing in this world that could give me more joy than that.

"You don't realize God is all you need until He's all you have."

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech, in life,
in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
