The little girl begged her father for the
polished little doll in the window of the toy shoppe.
"Please, Daddy?"
She wanted it so bad.
It was so important to her.
Her father looked down at her and said,
"Darling, someday you're going to grow old and look back on your life.
Your pretty little face will smile at the thought of your past. Right now what's important to you is only temporary and soon you'll want something more."
He gave her a huge hug and kissed her on the cheek.
The girl was young.
A broken heart was something very new to her.
She rushed to her father.
"Help, Daddy."
She wanted him so bad.
It hurt so much.
Her father looked over at her and said,
"Darling, someday you're going to grow old and look back on your life.
Your pretty little face will smile at the thought of your past. Right now what's important to you is only temporary and soon you'll want something more."
He gave her a huge hug and kissed her on the cheek.
The woman was strong.
But the weight of her week had brought her to her worst.
She sat down next to the wheelchair.
"Dad, I didn't get the job..."
She wanted it so bad.
It was so hard.
Her father looked up at her and said,
"Darling, someday you're going to grow old and look back on your life.
Your pretty little face will smile at the thought of your past. Right now what's important to you is only temporary and soon you'll want something more."
He gave her a huge hug and kissed her on the cheek.
The old woman laid quietly in her bed.
The cancer had nearly taken over
She folded her shakey, wrinkled hands
and looked up at the sky out the window.
She looked up at her heavenly Father and He said,
"Darling, today's the day to look back on your life.
Remember your past? Right now what was important to you, is now what you call life. It was all only temporary and soon you'll get something more."
The brisk wind blew the branches of the trees against her window, and her withered, eye lids slowly shut. Her pretty little mouth smiled a beautiful smile.
So this is what her Fathers were talking about.
